Resilience #54 Bra Bags
Let’s take a moment to consider bra bags.
Most of us have access to a washing machine; once considered a luxury, now firmly classed as essential. It’s a labour-saving device that we’d rather not do without.
That said, sometimes it can work too well. It can be a little boisterous for your delicates.
Which brings me to the bra. Maintaining the integrity of the bra over time requires a little extra TLC. The washing machine is designed for administering rough-and-tumble, sometimes a little too excessively. In an ironic twist, a bra requires a little additional support.
To provide cushioning from the automatic elements.
Not to remove the turmoil, just dampen it slightly. The turbulence is necessary, of course, without it the washing machine would be nothing but a humble bath.
And such is life.
We are all, in some ways, a little delicate, yet require a degree of upheaval to reveal our true selves. To understand what we’re capable of. Our potential. We rise to a challenge. Maybe even benefit from a little hot water.
That said, it pays to moderate our exposure to the buffeting. Too much can be counter-productive, leaving you a little threadbare. Out of shape. Too little, and we languish ineffectively and risk stagnation.
The trick is to gauge it: to harness the power of the #brabag. When considering personal support, two things spring to mind:
- Looking after physical health
- Taking care of mental wellbeing
Obvious, right?
Sure, but please note: neither entails withdrawal from the washing machine. It’s about managing life’s flotsam and jetsam, not hiding from it.
Managing the impact of the world around us by bolstering our inner fortitude.
We’re all delicate, but that doesn’t mean your fragile.
Just human.
